Get a walking pole!

Dear fellow hiker,

Love to walk but you are minding your step more than enjoying the view?

Fear of stumbling on uneven terrain?

Our pole review guide will show you in a couple of simple steps how to choose a walking pole that will upgrade your hike experience and service your exact needs.

Upgrading your hiking experience is so easy. Just follow our guide -

Cork, Foam or Rubber Grip?

Your walking pole’s handle is one of the most improtant features.

Foam handles are soft and pleasant to hold, but your palms get sweaty.

Cork handles are comfortable to hold and most brands use ergonomically designed handles to allow for a better grip, but on long walks they tend to cause small blisters.

A rubber handle is the least comfortable option- it makes your palms sweaty and cause blisters during long hikes.

One or Two Walking Poles?

Two poles help balance your body while walking and reduce the pressure that is applied to your lower back. So, use 2 poles for long hikes.

However, some are completely comfortable using just one pole so for shorter hikes you might want to leave one in the car.

With Shock Resistant or Without?

An anti shock system prevents pain and discomfort in your wrist and elbow, especially if you plan to use the walking pole on long hikes.

An anti shock system will make the pole slightly heavier and you will not be able to tell the difference if you only plan to use your pole for short hikes of 2,3 hours.

We would also recommend going for a walking pole with a strap. This way it can hang loose on your wrist if you need a free hand.
